How do I know if my device is Wi-Fi enabled? wi-fi logo
Look for this Wi-Fi logo on your device.
You can also open the connection manager on your device to see if there is a reference to WLAN (wireless local area network), Wi-Fi, or 802.11. Typically the connection manager is located in a settings or applications folder.

What are the minimum requirements to use Gogo?
Minimum requirements to access Gogo:
(1) 802.11 a/b/g wireless capability (Wi-Fi).
(2) a supported Web browser on your device.
Supported laptop browsers include: Google™ Chrome, Microsoft® Internet Explorer® (Windows® XP or Windows Vista™), Mozilla® Firefox®, & Safari™ on Mac OS® X
Supported mobile device browsers include: BlackBerry® Browser, Safari browser on Apple® iPod Touch and iPhone, and Windows Mobile®

Can I use Gogo in the airport terminal?
No. Gogo is only available on aircraft flying at a minimum altitude of 10,000 feet.

Is it safe to use Wi-Fi in flight?
Of course! Gogo has been rigorously tested and certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

How secure is the Gogo Inflight Portal?
Very. Gogo has partnered with VeriSign, the same SSL Certificate Authority used by many of the world’s leading financial institutions.

How fast is Gogo?
Gogo connection speeds are similar to mobile broadband on the ground.

Can I use Gogo to place a call with my cellular or VoIP phone?
No. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) prohibits the use of cellular network services during flight. But you can still email or IM using Gogo. Please note: VoIP services are also prohibited.

Can I access my corporate network using a Virtual Private Network?
Yes, if your employer has provided you with a VPN client and a firewall. However, a VPN, like all wireless communication, is not inherently secure. Gogo recommends that you take appropriate measures to ensure the security of your wireless connections.
